Match Reports, Men's

There was dancing and merriment in the streets around Spencer Road last night and lights in houses were shining well into the early hours as supporters celebrated a great night for "The Bay". Unfortunately, I was at Folkestone so my report is reasonably limited to the action that I witnessed. So, starting with The Bay 'A' v Folkestone Park. Our away side of Alfie Lewis, Les Mason, Scott Whiting and Grant Allen struggled all evening against a Folkestone side who were obviously very familiar with a tricky green. Credit must be given when 8 - 19 down after 15 ends they fought back and won the remaining 6 ends 8 - 3. that produced a final score of 16 - 22 to Folkestone Park who played their green well and deserved the home win. But "The Bay" had a home side of Terry Kelly, Bob Baldwin, Eddie Allen & Joe Kelly, and what a magnificent performance they provided to win 36 - 15.

Certainly on par or perhaps a better performance from Herne Bay 'B' in their demolition of Selinge. My information is limited but I know a great win was achieved at home by Dave Nash, Dave Harris, Alf Collar and Bob Day by 15 shots and the away rink of Russell Cooper, Danny Keleghar, Paul Evans and Jim Watson scored an equally magnificent win by 8 shots. Well done lads to a very changed side from last week due to unavailability.

Next Monday The Bay 'A' will be home & away to Ashford Rail. Whilst The Bay 'B' will be home and away to Canterbury. Both games starting at 6pm and all supporters are promised a festival of bowls.
