Grant's Close Battle in the Nationals

Herne Bay bowler Grant Allen beat opponents from Devon, Worcestershire and Northumberland to reach the quarter final stage of the 2 wood singles at the English National championships held at Leamington Spa. His quarter final was a close affair with the scores level at the allotted 21 ends resulting in an extra end decider being played which unfortunately Grant was unable to win. Bay were beaten by 28 shots at Birchington in the East Kent mixed triples league but beaten by Chislet by 103 shots to pick up 15 of the 17 available points in the Catherine Wheeler league. Bay won both away friendly games at Metropolitan Police and Woodlands Park.

The Bowls England National Finals 2022 #BENF2022, begin tomorrow (Friday, 26th August).
As many of you will know, after successfully defending his county singles title a couple of weeks ago, Grant Allen qualified for the men’s national singles championship and is due to play his first game on Thursday, 8th September at 9:30am at Royal Leamington Spa.
