Putting HBBC on the Map
On Sunday our fours team of Pat Knight, Cath Watson, Gill Baker and Ellen Foster contested the County Divisional Final at Boughton where they unfortunately lost to a strong 4 from Ashford Rail.
On Monday evening Shaun Woolford won the Divisional Final of the badged singles beating Gordon Charlton 21 - 15 at Birchington. Shaun will play his County quarter final and hopefully semi-final at OGF Bowls Club, Gravesend on Tuesday 17 July in his attempt to reach the County final.
Last night Dave Mason and Grant Allen won the Divisional Final of the pairs at Ashford Rail and will play their County quarter final at Ditton on Wednesday 18 July.
Tomorrow night Shaun is in another Divisional Final (2 wood) at Folkestone.
On Friday of this week Len Brown, Mike Trotter, Bob Baldwin and Brian Dennis will play the Divisional Final of the over 55 fours against a 4 from Victoria Park. This will be held at Herne Bay starting at 10.30. For this match it has been agreed that the main green will play away from the pavilion and then be turned on completion of the match. Any support for the men would be appreciated.
On Friday evening at Aylesham & Snowdown we have two 4's through to the Divisional Final. Alfie Lewis, Shaun Woolford, Ian Robb and Paul Woolford will play a 4 from Sandwich and Dave Mason, Scott Whiting, Grant Allen and Joe Kelly will play a 4 from Canterbury.
Don't forget that the Cox Cup gets under way starting on Saturday morning where our home rink will be playing Folkestone Park at 10.30 and on Monday night when home rinks will be playing Whitstable and Hythe.
Finally our Ladies commence their Mollie Cleggett campaign next Tuesday against Ashford Town with the home rink starting at 2.00.
These are exciting times for the club, show your support when you can. It is much appreciated.
