Reigning champions Herne Bay opened their Forest of Blean League title defence with a victory at home to local rivals Whitstable. Wins on 5 of the 6 triples played gave Bay 7 of the 8 available points.

In the National Top Club competition the Herne Bay ‘B’ team won at Kearsney and will be away to Ashford Town in the next round.

Bay picked up 5 ½ of the 8 available points in their opening East Kent mixed triples league fixture at Minster. John Phillips, Sara Trotter and Bill Robb racking up a 34 – 11 win.

Bay lost 5 of the 6 triples played at Aylesham and went down by 1 shot.

Bay ladies won one triple at Aylesham and lost the other 2 going down by14 shots overall.
