Herne Bay reached the Area final of the Cox cup with a superb victory over a strong Canterbury team. The home rink of Terry Kelly, Scott Whiting, Ian Robb and Joe Kelly won 26 - 7 while the away rink of Shaun Woolford, Steve Brown, Paul Woolford and Eddie Allen recorded a 19 - 9 victory having been behind 9 - 3 earlier in the match. Bay will play St Lawrence in the final.

In the Forest of Blean league Bay fielded a couple of debutants but were still too strong for Faversham winning all 6 triples to gain all 8 league points.

Bay picked up 14 1/2 points out of 16 in their 2 East Kent Mixed Triples league games to extend their lead at the top of the league.
