Herne Bay Bowls Club opened their season on a beautiful Easter Saturday afternoon with 72 members attending a mixed drive.
In the first leg of the annual trophy match at Sandwich the men lost by 27 shots with only the rink of Danny Keleghar, Tony Knibbs, Alf Collar and Bill Robb winning by a margin of 17 shots.
Bay only had 1 winning rink in the mixed game at home to Empire losing overall by 49 shots.
Bay won the overall score against Victoria Park by 7 shots with both clubs winning 3 of the 6 triples played.
