Middleton Cup Win for Kent at Leamington

Winning the Middleton Cup competition has eluded Kent since 1993 but this year they managed to defeat Devon in the semifinals (125 - 106) and Northamptonshire in the final (121 - 111) over the six rinks to bring it back home! Our players gave it their all with a tremendous display of top class bowling.
Herne Bay were represented in the team by Grant Allen and Joe Kelly who have been part of the squad for many years. Now, at last, their blazers will be decorated by a well earned winners flash.
For those members of the club who are not aware, Grant and Joe have covered many many miles travelling, at their own expense, around the various counties to participate in this and other county competitions representing Kent. This promotes the name of Herne Bay Bowling Club not only in Kent but nationwide.
Well done both of you for the commitment you give to our sport of lawn bowls.
