Short Mat
The East Kent Short Mat League for 2025-26 has begun. The league consists of 26 teams from 14 clubs which are divided into three divisions. Herne Bay Hurricanes are placed in division one, Spitfires in division two and Lancasters in division three. All teams play each other Home and Away during the season which runs from 1st October to 31st March.
Each team consists of two rinks of three players. Each game is of 15 ends. There is 2 points for each rink for a win and 1 point for a draw. There is a further 2 points for the overall win. Each match therefore produces 6 points to be divided between the teams.
Our home games start at 7.30pm with Hurricanes playing Monday evenings, Lancasters Tuesday evenings and Spitfires on Thursday evenings. The list of matches is displayed on the Short Mat notice board. Club members are welcome to support the teams and watch the games.
