Captain's Charity Hog Roast

What a fantastic turnout in support of Pam and John’s charity event. The club house was full to capacity with many members dressed in country and western outfits. Out the back of the clubhouse John’s grandson had set up his hog roast gazebo ready for service whilst our members chatted and caught up with friends and family. A delicious plateful was provided which everyone enjoyed. After the food Dennis entertained us with a variety of tunes which drew members to the floor for a good ol’ knees up.
Throughout the evening a raffle was held in support of the charity. Thanks go to John’s family and everyone who contributed towards the plentiful raffle. Special mention of thanks go to Joyce for her efforts in canvassing local businesses for donations of prizes, also to Dave Knight who kindly donated a Harrods picnic basket which was put up for auction.
Pam and John would like to express their utmost thanks to everyone that attended the evening and helped raise just over £900 for Pilgrim’s Hospice in Canterbury.
