Herne Bay failed to reach the final of the Kent County Cox cup losing to Milton Regis in the semi final played at Folkestone. Both Herne Bay rinks were always under pressure and at 1 point were 15 shots adrift. The rink of Terry Kelly, Sean Woolford, Paul Woolford and Grant Allen finished with a win by 19 - 14. The other rink of Dave Mason, Scott Whiting, Eddie Allen and Ian Robb having been well behind suddenly picked up 10 shots with a 4 and 6 count. This meant that playing the last end Bay were only 1 shot down overall. In a tense final end Milton Regis held their nerve to get the shot and win the rink 26 - 19 winning by 2 shots overall.
In a close match against Whitstable, rink honours were shared 3 each with Herne Bay winning overall by 11 shots.
