County Final beckons for Herne Bay pair:
David Mason and Ian Robb have won through to the final of the Kent County pairs to be held at Marden Bowls Club on Sunday 27 July. The quarter and semi- finals were held at Milton Regis bowls club. In the quarters Mason and Robb beat Milton Regis bowlers Barnicott and King 17 – 15 and in the semis they beat Hunt and Goord from Bromley 26 – 13. Herne Bay have not won a County title since 1972 and last won the pairs in 1947 so this is a notable event in Herne Bay history. Having reached the County final the pair will also represent Kent at the National Finals to be held at Leamington starting on August 25th.

In the East Kent Mixed Triples League, Faversham conceded one triple before play. Bay won 3 of the 5 played and overall by 20 shots picking up 6 points.

Rink honours were shared 3 each in the match with New Romney but the visitors won overall by 3 shots. The Ladies had a comfortable 54 shots win against New Romney winning all 4 rinks played.

Bay won 2 and lost 4 of the mixed triples played against Folkestone and despite the 26 - 10 win by Rosemary McCarthy, David Knight and Bruce Clayton lost overall by 6 shots.
