Bay reached the last 4 in Kent in the National Double 4’s competition with a victory over Borough Green. The match had been nip and tuck all the way but with 4 ends to go on both rinks Bay were 5 shots adrift. However, spurred on by a vociferous home support Bay managed to overcome the deficit to win by 4 shots.

Dave Mason and Ian Robb won the Divisional Final of the County pairs with a 4 shot victory over opponents from Sandwich.

Mason also progressed to the last 4 in Kent in the National Mixed pairs competition alo ng with partner Anita harding with a win at Ashford Rail.

Herne Bay were too strong for local rivals Whitstable overpowering them by 70 shots in the Forest of Blean League encounter. Winning 5 of the 6 triples played gave Bay 7 league points to maintain their position at the top. The triple of Bruce Clayton, John Melford and Eddie Allen won 30 – 5.

Bay won all 6 triples played in the annual Trophy match at Canterbury and won overall by an outstanding 57 shots. The triple of acting Captain John Phillips, Alan Kent and Bob day won 28 – 4.

The Ladies also played at Canterbury and won 4 and drew 1 of 6 triples played winning by 47 shots. A big win for Jan Starkey, Sheila Tibby and Gill Baker 30 – 6.

Bay ran out winners by 16 shots In the mixed friendly game with Keyworth Tourists from Nottinghamshire with Bay winning on 3 of the 5 rinks. Best winning rink was Beryl Randall, Roy Appleyard, Jean White and John Toms.

Bay only managed to win 2 of the 6 mixed triples played against Dane Park losing by 23 shots. The best winning triple was Pauline Hougham, Terry Taunton and John Toms 21 - 12
