In the National Double rink competition Herne Bay ‘A’ progressed with a win at Ashford Town and will now be at home to Kearsney. The Herne Bay ‘A’ team were beaten by Sandwich.

In their first Forest of Blean league match of the season Herne Bay won  5 of the 6 triples played away at Boughton.  Winning overall by 52 shots gave Bay 7 of the 8 available points. The triple of Mike Trotter, Bob Baldwin and Scott Whiting had a 32 shot victory. Jamie Helyar, Ray day and Tony Bishop were losing 17 -10 with 5 ends to play but rallied to win by 3 shots.

In the first leg of the Annual Trophy Bay visited Deal and in a match reduced to 15 ends because of rain Bay ran out winners by 11 shots thanks mainly to a 10 shot victory for the rink of Stan Miller, Tony Ackland, Mike Trotter and Alf Collar.

Bay won 4 of the 5 rinks played against Erith & Kent Scottish winning overall by 29 shots. The best winning rink was Bob Baldwin, Sam Hardy, Norman Kneale and Jim Watson.

In the last match of the week Bay were beaten by Cobham by 12 shots.

The Ladies played 2 triples against Faversham winning one and losing the other and losing overall by  9 shots.

The Ladies lost 2 of the 3 triples played against Manor House but a 5 shot win for Jan Starkey, Cath Watson and Gill Baker enabled an overall shots draw.

Bay Ladies won 2 of 3 rinks played against Cobham and won overall by 7 shots. Vicky Lewis, Dawn Harris, Joyce Whitlock and Jan Remmington  won by 10 shots.
