Herne Bay proceeded to the next round of the National Double 4’s competition with a 53 – 27 win over Tilmanstone

In the East Kent Mixed triples league Bay beat reigning champions Minster by a narrow 2 shot margin giving Bay 5 of the 8 available points. The victory was down to the winning triple of Edie Nicholls, Ray Chipperfield and Peter Gibson. They were level 10 – 10 with their opponents at 12 ends but went on to win 28 -10.

Bay then travelled to Barham for another East Kent Mixed triples league match and won 4 of the 6 triples played giving Bay 6 points. Richie Callanan, Gill Baker and Bob Baldwin had an astounding 45 – 4 win including a hotshot on one of the ends.

Bay won 4 and drew 1 of 6 triples played against Broadstairs and St. Peters winning by 30 shots overall. The best winning triple was Ted Milton, John Toms and Bill Robb 29 – 8.

The final men’s match of the week was at home to Baker Bexford with the visitors winning on 4 of the 6 rinks played. Brian Nicholls, Paul Green, Andy Cattanach and Steve Brown had a 25 -14 win.

Bay Ladies won 2 drew 1 and lost 1 of 4 triples played against Broadstairs & St. Peters but went down by 15 shots overall. The best victory was by 3 shots for Marian Algar, Gill Clayton and Dawn Harris.
