Results 2009

The Bernard Annand Finals day was held at Herne Bay Bowls club on Sunday 30th August.

The Trophy semi finals saw Dane Park beat Canterbury 40 – 28 and Folkestone overcome Lyminge 40 – 31. In the afternoon Final, Dane Park got off to a flier. After 3 ends they were winning on one rink by 12 – 0 and on the other 6 – 3. The pattern remained the same with the lead stretching to 19 shots after 14 ends. At this stage the Folkestone rink that had stayed in touch gathered some momentum and this continued to such an extent, in that as the match started the final end the overall score was level and the team winning the end would win the Trophy. A somewhat relieved Dane Park picked up two shots and thus won the tournament for the first time in their history by 46 – 44.

The 3rd place game saw Canterbury beat Lyminge 46 – 32.

In the Shield semi finals, Lenham beat Deal 46 – 39 and New Romney comfortably disposed of Charing 44 – 19. A strong Lenham double rink beat New Romney 59 – 26 with Charing picking up 3rd place.
